Spring is in the Air!

Dear Steven,

April is a great month in the Harbor. We have beautiful sunrises and sunsets and the temperatures are starting to warm up.  Spring brings out the outdoor adventurer in all of us.  Time to dust off our tennis shoes and get out the bicycles and strollers. Spring brings out the athlete in all of us and the Harbor offers the ability to go jogging, walking, paddle boarding, surfing, sailing, kayaking, jet skiing and just plain old relaxing. The Harbor has fantastic picnic and BBQ facilities for you to enjoy, they are first come, first served. Pack your beach chair, some food and come down and enjoy the day! Be sure to check out the restaurant happy hours and the fantastic shopping. We are a one-stop destination for the athlete, foodie and shopper in all of us!

GRAY WHALE WATCHING SEASON WRAPS UP
The whales are headed back north so catch a glimpse of these majestic creatures while you can. Dana Wharf just spotted the 200th Gray Whale on march 28th. The numbers are ahead of last season.  Captain Chris Pica of the Dana Prise said “the gates have opened it’s like a whale race track out there”.  It’s that time of year that you may also see the baby Gray Whale calf alongside its mom.

The Gray Whale season will soon end, but we then start the Blue Whale season and there are always lots of marine life to see. You can whale watch with other whale watching public on a guided tour or you can get your own group together and charter a boat for a guided cruise. The following companies offer various types of whale watching trips from public to private, contact each of them to set sail for your particular adventure.
